Hello. Is there anybody out there? Well, maybe. It’s been an exciting week in Science. The journal Nature published that scientists have discovered a system of planets orbiting around a single star, and it is possible there is water, which as far as we understand, is required for life. Maybe we can finally answer if life exists beyond Earth.
And the winner is…Put on your party dress and clip on your cumberbun, it is Oscar weekend. This weekend is the culmination of the award season, and this year’s contenders have upped the definition of award-worthy. Here’s what you need to know:
- The event kicks off at 8:30PM EST on Sunday, but the red carpet coverage begins at 7PM
- La La Land is poised to take home the most gold, but Manchester By The Sea, Moonlight, and Hidden Figures are sailing in close behind
- Jimmy Kimmel is hosting, so expect some water cooler worthy one-liners

Believe it or not, spring is rapidly approaching, not that the mid-Atlantic had much of winter anyway. It’s the end of February, and my windows are open. Be that as it may, Spring Break is not too far away, and that may mean travel plans.
